The 1st International Workshop on Smart Grid Technologies (SGT ’2022) brings together international experts, researchers, and practitioners, to present original work on various aspects related to distributed energy systems and smart grid technologies with a close focus on (but not limited to) sustainability, reliability, safeness, and quality of electricity.
Smart grid technologies are playing a pivotal role in the electric grid transformation, bringing out promising benefits. However, this transition imposes new challenges concerning the operation and management of energy. Research in the field of energy and distribution systems has undergone many changes. Nowadays, it is not just about the energy distribution system itself but also about comprehensive concepts including decentralized RES (renewable energy sources), energy communities, aggregated energy flexibility, independent aggregation, or automated meter management. The analytical, computational, and optimization tools that will contribute to a systemic energy solution for the safe use of power flexibility associated with integrating new technologies and market players are also an integral part. Current distribution system management tools are at the limits of their moral and often technical lifetime. There is also a growing demand for innovative solutions for detailed analytics and optimization of distribution system operations. Increasing the observability of the distribution system, the efficiency of investment planning, and the preparation of operations is also an integral objective. The Workshop is targeted to bring together top specialists and stimulate cutting-edge research discussions among academic researchers and industry worldwide.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to: Results of practical experiments and real-life deployments, especially in wearables and Industrial IoT domains.Call for Papers
Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length original and previously unpublished papers. Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed by at last two members of the Scientific Programme Committee. The congress organizers reserve the right to not include a paper to the Proceedings if the congress registration fee is not paid or if the paper is not presented on the ICUMT 2022 congress.
Submission Instructions
Authors should prepare a PDF file following the IEEE single-space, two-column format using at least a 10-point size type. The paper must be correctly formatted to fit on A4. The paper should not exceed 6 pages, including figures, tables & references. Maximum 4 additional pages are allowed. Additional pages will be overcharged. The papers cannot exceed 10 pages; otherwise, they will be automatically rejected. The cost of overcharge per page is indicated in the Registration Fees. The paper must be submitted in PDF format via the EDAS system. The list of authors in the submitted manuscript should correspond to the list of authors in EDAS. The SGT '2022 workshop proceedings will be included in the ICUMT proceedings and submitted together for indexing in IEEE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases.
